Another year is coming to an end.  Thank you to all our art lovers and supporters in 2013.  Many works have made there way to new homes with the latest being "On Thin Ice" by Glenn Hoyle which with much effort was loaded onto the ute.

"CONGRATULATIONS"

Congratulations to Nina Machielse Hunt for her first prize in the landscape section at Araluen Art Gallery in Alice Springs. 

Oil and Acrylic on linen. 

'If the Light is right the darkness will remain' Triptych.

Also artist Natalie Reid took out 2nd place in the Frost Fest exhibition for her "Cloud Trails" and Commended for her sculpture "Bird Trails".

Jaq Davies sculpture "Bird Watchers Dream" was Highly Commended and Glenn Hoyle with Commended for his sculpture "Four Poems".

"ECLECTICA COLLECTICA"

An exhibition of works to be opened by Rex Irwin of Olsen Irwin Gallery on Saturday 27th April 2013 at 11.30am. The exhibition features the works of:

"SUMMERTIME" OPENS

Gallery 1 - "Summertime"  featuring works by Ian Grant. Guest of Gallery Director Libby Oldham, Ian Grant is  a Sydney painter and academic.  He was head of Painting Studies at University of NSW College Of Fine Arts until 2006.  

This exhibition also features a compilation of works from the stockroom by artists Eris Fleming, Joy Engelman, Jaq Davies, Glenn Hoyle, Josephine Jagger- Manners and Mathew Begg.

Gallery 2 -  is showing a selection of ceramics from Marjo Carter, Pauline Welfare, Louise Ranshaw and Simon Reece.

Gallery 3 - a  mix of works from our emerging artists.

"SUMMERTIME"

When Jayes reopens on 30th January we will start with a flourish. Our first exhibition for the year in Gallery 1 "Summertime"  is a compilation of works from the stockroom featuring artists Eris Fleming, Jaq Davies, Glenn Hoyle, Joy Engelman and Josephine Jagger- Manners.

Gallery 2 will have a selection of ceramics and Gallery 3 a  mix of works from our emerging artists.

We are looking forward to the year ahead with a number of new and exciting events happening at the Gallery.

You will see from the gallery programme that it will be a happening year.

CONGRATULATIONS GLENN HOYLE

Last night Glenn took out the Fire and Ice Sculpture prize with his strong creative work "On Thin Ice".  The sculpture will be at the gallery from next week along with his other works in the exhibition "...like a three ring circus".

LAUGHTER FILLED THE AIR

A great night with lots of fun and laughter, people from far and near joined the artists for dinner after the opening.  Good company, good food, a good night.

"....like a three ring circus" - a whimsical zen communique!

Exhibiting at Jayes Gallery for the first time, two well known and recognised artists who have moved to the country from the city to gain the freedom and inspiration that the ‘bush’ provides.
 Davies’s mark making expands on the everyday objects found in country fields and down country lanes. There is a ‘zen’ like quality about these pastel and soft paintings that evoke the ethereal and remind one of dreams and fleeting impressions. Hoyle brings a range of metals, found objects and bright steel together in intriguing sculptures that range from large to small and have a whimsical quality to them. They remind one of Lewis Carroll’s “Looking through the Looking Glass” with their unique compositions.

This is an exhibition that will delight the viewer and collector alike.
